V. NEW TOOLS AND OLD
As we have mentioned, educational
sciences made efforts to use the technology of industrial
society for their own purposes, this technology was
eminently mechanical and electrical. At the end of this
century education has had to incorporate powerful
technological tools provided by new electronic, magnetic and
optical systems. The contrast between the two types of
technological implementation is revealing. Some examples
will awaken childhood memories (and conflicting emotions),
in many readers.
